Editorial policy
Local Regional Review aims to explain geographical ideas accurately and in language readers can check against the world around them. We distinguish established descriptions from interpretation and correct published errors when they are brought to our attention.
Accuracy and clarity
We review names, definitions and geographical claims before publication, and avoid presenting a general pattern as proof about every place. Where wording could blur a meaningful distinction, we revise it. If an article cannot support a definite answer, it should say so rather than manufacture certainty.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for the reader and the subject, not to secure a favourable mention or placement. A commercial relationship does not determine our conclusions, category choices or editorial coverage.
Corrections
Readers can report an error through the Contact page. We assess the specific claim, make warranted changes, and add a correction note when a change materially affects the meaning of an article. We do not quietly turn a contested interpretation into a claim of fact.
Paid and partner material
Any sponsored article, paid placement or material produced with a partner is clearly labelled where readers encounter it. Partner relationships do not buy editorial endorsement, and we do not present paid material as independent reporting.
Maps are arguments about place
A boundary can clarify one thing and hide another. We look beyond the line to the terrain, routes and relationships that give a region its character.
